Orders & Booking Guide

The Orders page is where you view all your Shopify orders and book shipments. This guide walks you through managing orders, booking shipments, and understanding order statuses.

Orders page overview

What it is
The main page for viewing and managing Shopify orders and booking shipments.

How to access
Click Orders in the left navigation menu.

What you’ll see

  • Summary tiles with order counts

  • Order list table (desktop) or order cards (mobile)

  • Filters and search

  • Bulk action buttons

  • Individual order actions


Summary tiles

What they are
Quick overview cards showing order statistics.

Tiles shown

  • Total orders – all orders in the system

  • Unfulfilled – orders not yet shipped

  • Fulfilled – orders that have shipped

  • On hold – orders paused and not ready to ship

What they mean
A quick snapshot of your order flow at a glance.


Balance warning banner

What it is
A banner that appears when your prepaid balance is too low to book shipments.

When it appears
When your balance falls below the minimum required.

What it shows

  • Current balance

  • Required balance

  • Shortfall amount

  • Link to top up

What to do

  • Click the banner or go to Settings → Billing to top up

  • If a first top-up bonus is available, you’ll be reminded here


Monthly limit banner

What it is
A warning banner when you are close to or have reached your monthly shipment limit.

When it appears
Only for plans with shipment limits.

What it shows

  • Shipment count vs limit

  • Percentage used

  • Warning at 80%+

  • Critical alert at 100%

What to do

  • Approaching the limit: consider upgrading

  • At the limit: booking is paused until next month or after upgrading


Order filters

Filters let you narrow the order list by status or carrier.

Status filters

Available filters

  • All

  • Unfulfilled

  • Fulfilled

  • On hold

How to use

  1. Click a filter to apply it

  2. The active filter is highlighted in green

  3. Click All to clear filters


Carrier filters

What they do
Filter orders by carrier.

When they appear
Only if you have orders with confirmed carriers.

How to use

  • Click All to show every carrier

  • Click a carrier name to filter

  • Active carrier is highlighted in green


Search

What it is
A live search box for finding orders.

How to use

  • Search by order number, customer name, or order ID

  • Results update as you type


Order list (desktop)

What it is
A table view of all orders.

Columns shown

  • Checkbox (bulk selection)

  • Order number

  • Customer

  • Items

  • Total

  • Status

  • Carrier

  • Tracking

  • Actions

How to use

  • Click a row to view details

  • Use checkboxes for bulk actions


Order cards (mobile)

What it is
A card-based layout for mobile devices.

What it shows

  • Order number

  • Customer

  • Total

  • Status badge

  • Carrier and tracking

  • Action buttons


Bulk actions

Bulk actions let you work on multiple orders at once.

Bulk book

What it does
Books shipments for all selected orders using default settings.

How to use

  1. Select orders using checkboxes

  2. Click Bulk book

What happens

  • Uses default carrier and packaging

  • Creates shipments where possible

  • Shows success or error messages per order

Important
All orders must have valid addresses and dimensions.


Bulk print labels

What it does
Downloads or prints labels for all booked orders.

How to use

  1. Select booked orders

  2. Click Bulk print labels

Requirements

  • Orders must already be booked

  • Labels must be available


Individual order actions

Book

Opens the booking modal to create a shipment.

Use this when you’re ready to ship an order.


View details

Shows shipment details in a modal, including:

  • Carrier and service

  • Tracking number

  • Booking date


Download label

Downloads the shipping label as a PDF.

Requirements

  • Order must be booked

  • Label must be available


Print label

Opens the label in a new window for direct printing.


Booking modal

The booking modal gives you full control over shipping options.

How to open
Click Book on an unfulfilled order.

Layout

  • Left: shipping options

  • Right: order summary and cost


Packages section

Set package dimensions and packaging types here.

Includes

  • Preset or custom packages

  • Dimensions and weight

  • Unit selector

  • Add/remove packages

  • Saved combination indicator


Package type selector

Choose between preset packages or custom dimensions.

  • Preset packages auto-fill dimensions

  • Custom lets you enter dimensions manually


Saved combination indicator

Shows when saved dimensions are being used.

  • ✓ Using saved dimensions

  • ⚠️ Partial match found

Click Override to enter different dimensions.


Dimensions and units

Enter:

  • Length

  • Width

  • Height

  • Weight

Switch between cm/kg and in/lb using the unit selector.


Product AI

If enabled, Product AI can estimate dimensions automatically.

  • Click Estimate Dimensions

  • Confirm or override the result


Add or remove packages

Use this when splitting an order into multiple packages.


Save combination

Save package dimensions for this product combination.

Benefits

  • Faster booking next time

  • Consistent packaging


Line items

Shows products in the order and supports partial shipping.

Partial shipping

Ship only part of an order by:

  • Unchecking items

  • Adjusting quantities

The order remains open for later shipments.


Carrier selection

Choose which carrier and service to use.

Options

  • Top 3 cheapest carriers (quick select)

  • Full carrier list dropdown

Carrier badges:

  • Premium

  • Live

  • Customer selected


Service options

Optional extras:

  • Signature required

  • Insurance

  • Special instructions

These may add to the shipping cost.


Address section

View and edit the shipping address.

Edit address

Make changes and save or cancel.

Validate address

Checks deliverability for the selected carrier.

PO Box detection
Some carriers do not deliver to PO Boxes.


Order summary

Review before booking:

  • Carrier and service

  • Packages

  • Cost

  • Estimated delivery date


Place on hold

Marks the order as On Hold without creating a shipment.

Use this when:

  • Waiting for stock

  • Address needs confirmation

  • Customer requests a delay


Confirm packages

Confirms package details and loads carrier rates.


Book shipment

Creates the shipment and label.

What happens

  1. Payment is processed

  2. Shipment is created

  3. Tracking number generated

  4. Label created


Booking confirmation

After booking you’ll see:

  • Success message

  • Tracking number

  • Download label button

The modal auto-closes after 3 seconds.


Order statuses

Pending

Order created but not booked.

Allocated

Assigned to a warehouse.

Shipped

Shipment booked and label created.

Delivered

Carrier confirms delivery.

On hold

Paused until manually booked.


Frequently asked questions

Can I book multiple orders at once?
Yes, use Bulk book.

Can I ship only some items?
Yes, use partial shipping in the booking modal.

Can I change the carrier after booking?
No. Cancel and rebook if supported.

What if my balance is too low?
Top up via Settings → Billing.

Can I save package dimensions?
Yes, use Save Combination.

Can I use my own carrier account?
Yes, on Starter+ plans.
