Packaging & Pack Points Guide

The Packaging page is where you browse sustainable packaging, manage your Pack Points balance, and redeem points for free packaging. This guide explains how Pack Points work and how to order packaging using them.

What it is
The main page for managing Pack Points and ordering sustainable packaging.

How to access
Click Packaging in the left navigation menu.

What you’ll see

Pack Points system

What it is
A rewards system that earns you points for shipping orders. Points can be redeemed for free sustainable packaging.

How it works

  • Earn points automatically with every shipment

  • Points are stored in your account

  • Redeem points for packaging products

  • Points expire after 3 months


Earning Pack Points

Minimum credits (no packaging used)

What it is
Base points earned even if you don’t use Pack to the Future packaging.

Amount
0.25 points per shipment

When you earn
Every time you book a shipment.

Example
Ship 4 orders = 1 point earned.


Packaging credits (using Pack to the Future packaging)

What it is
Points earned based on the packaging you use.

Each Pack to the Future packaging product has a credit value. You earn that many points per unit used.

Credit values

  • Small compostable mailer – 1 point

  • Medium compostable mailer – 1.75 points

  • Large compostable mailer – 2.5 points

  • X-Large compostable mailer – 3.5 points

  • Small padded mailer – 2.25 points

  • Medium padded mailer – 3 points

  • Large padded mailer – 4 points

  • X-Large padded mailer – 6.25 points

Example
Ship 20 orders using Medium Padded Mailers = 60 points.

When you earn
Points are added automatically after each shipment is booked.


Points expiration

What it is
Pack Points lose value over time and eventually expire.

Timeline

  • 0–30 days: 100% value

  • 31–90 days: 50% value

  • After 90 days: expired and removed

What you’ll see

  • Points breakdown by value

  • Warnings when points are expiring soon

  • Critical alerts at 7 days remaining

Best practice
Redeem points regularly to avoid losing value.


First top-up bonus

What it is
A one-time bonus when you top up your prepaid shipping balance for the first time.

Bonus
2× credits on your first top-up.

Example
$100 top-up = 454 credits (normally 227).

When it applies
Only on your first top-up.


Pack Points balance display

Balance card

What it shows

  • Current Pack Points balance

  • Orders shipped

  • Expiry information

  • Upgrade prompt (if locked)


Locked status

What it means
Points cannot be redeemed on Free or Starter plans.

What you’ll see

  • Greyed-out balance

  • “Locked” badge

  • Upgrade prompt showing total value

How to unlock
Upgrade to Warrior or Enterprise.


Points breakdown

Categories

  • Full value – 0–30 days

  • 50% value – 31–90 days

  • Expired – removed

This helps you see which points are at risk.


Expiry warnings

Warning levels

  • 14 days or less – yellow warning

  • 7 days or less – red critical alert

Redeem points before they lose value or expire.


Packaging product catalog

What it is
A catalog of all available sustainable packaging products.

Products include

  • Compostable mailers

  • Padded mailer bags

  • Honeycomb hex wrap

  • Eco-friendly shipping labels

  • Thermal printer (locked until 500 orders shipped)

  • Product image

  • Product name

  • Points required

  • Minimum order quantity (MOQ)

  • Points earned when used

  • Add to cart button


Product locks

Some products unlock only after meeting requirements.

Locked product

  • Thermal printer – unlocks after 500 orders shipped

You’ll see a lock icon and progress indicator until unlocked.


Minimum order quantity (MOQ)

What it is
The minimum quantity you can order for a product.

How it works

  • Most mailers: MOQ of 25

  • Some products: MOQ of 1

  • Quantity selector enforces MOQ

Example: An MOQ of 25 means you must order 25, 50, 75, etc.


Shopping cart

What it is
Where you review products before redeeming points.

Cart shows

  • Product details

  • Quantity

  • Points per unit

  • Total points required

  • Remove option


Quantity selector

How it works

  • Quantity must meet MOQ

  • Values below MOQ are rounded up

  • Non-multiples are adjusted


Cart summary

What it shows

  • Subtotal (points required)

  • Your current balance

  • Points remaining after redemption

Colour indicators

  • Green – sufficient points

  • Red – insufficient points


Creating a discount code

What it is
Redeeming points to create a discount code for the Pack to the Future packaging store.

How it works

  1. Add products to cart

  2. Click Create Discount

  3. Points are deducted

  4. You’re redirected to checkout

Requirements

  • Warrior+ plan

  • Enough points

  • At least one product in cart

Discount value
Equal to the retail value of the products in your cart.


Checkout process

What happens

  • Discount code is auto-applied

  • Product cost is covered by points

  • You only pay shipping (if applicable)

Packaging ships from the Pack to the Future store.


Printer unlock progress

Requirement
Ship 500 orders to unlock the thermal printer.

What you’ll see

  • Progress bar

  • Orders shipped vs required

  • Orders remaining

Once unlocked, the printer can be redeemed with 680 points.


Top-up banner

What it is
A banner encouraging you to top up and earn bonus points.

When it appears

  • Low points balance

  • First top-up bonus unused

  • Banner not dismissed

What you can do

  • Click Top Up Now to go to Billing

  • Click × to dismiss


Points value examples

Shows what your points can buy, including:

  • Product name

  • Points required

  • Retail value

This helps you understand point value at a glance.

Free plan

  • Can earn points

Starter plan

  • Can earn points

  • Cannot redeem points

Warrior+ plan

  • Can earn and redeem points

  • Full access to Pack Points features

How do I earn Pack Points?
Points are earned automatically with every shipment.
