The Billing page is where you manage your subscription, payment methods, and prepaid account balance. This guide explains subscription plans, billing options, and how payments are handled.

Billing page overview

What it is
The main page for managing subscriptions, payment methods, and account balance.

How to access
Click Settings in the left navigation, then open the Billing tab.

Pack to the Future offers multiple plans depending on your shipping volume and feature needs.

Upgrading or downgrading

How it works

  1. Click Upgrade or Downgrade

  2. You’re redirected to Shopify’s billing page

  3. Confirm the change

  4. Return to Pack to the Future

What happens

  • Upgrades apply immediately

  • Downgrades apply at the end of your billing period


Enterprise plan

To move to Enterprise:

  • Click Contact Sales, or

  • Reach out via Intercom chat

A member of the team will discuss pricing and requirements.


Payment method selection

Choose how shipping costs are paid.

Available options

  • Prepaid account balance

  • Charge account (pay per shipment)

Select your preferred option and click Save Payment Method.


Prepaid account balance

What it is
You top up your account in advance and shipping costs are deducted from your balance.

How it works

  • Add credits to your account

  • 1 credit = $0.44 AUD

  • Balance is deducted when shipments are booked

Topping up your balance

How to top up

  1. Enter an amount (minimum $10)

  2. Click Top Up

  3. Complete payment

  4. Credits are added instantly

Amounts increase in $10 increments.


First top-up bonus

What it is
A one-time bonus on your first top-up.

Bonus
2× credits on your first top-up only.

Example
$100 top-up = 454 credits instead of 227.

You’ll see a bonus indicator before completing your first top-up.


Charge account

What it is
Automatically pays for each shipment using a saved payment method.

How it works

  • Prepaid balance is used first

  • Remaining amount is charged automatically

Benefits

  • No manual top-ups required

  • Prepaid balance is never wasted

Requirements

  • Stripe connected

  • Saved payment method


Stripe connection

What it is
Secure payment processing via Stripe.

Why connect

  • Enable automatic billing

  • Use Charge Account

  • Secure top-ups

Status

  • Not connected – prompt shown

  • Connected – “Stripe Connected” badge

Security

  • OAuth-based connection

  • Pack to the Future never sees your card details

Note: Stripe integration may show “Coming Soon” in some environments.


Saving payment preferences

Save payment method

  • Stores your selected payment option

  • Used for all future shipments

Cancel

  • Reverts changes if you don’t want to save


Top-up section (Warrior+ only)

Shown only on Warrior and Enterprise plans.

  • Top-up form

  • Transaction history


Transaction history

What it shows

  • Date

  • Dollar amount

  • Credits awarded

  • Bonus indicator

Helps track top-ups and bonuses.


First top-up bonus banner

What it is
A reminder banner encouraging you to use your first top-up bonus.

Includes

  • Bonus details

  • Countdown timer

  • Top Up Now button

  • Dismiss option

Once dismissed, it won’t reappear.


Understanding shipping costs

Cost breakdown

  • Carrier base rate

  • 15% markup (network carriers) or

  • 15% transaction fee (BYO carriers)

Example

  • Carrier rate: $10.00

  • Fee: $1.50

  • Total charged: $11.50


Balance warnings

Shown when your prepaid balance is too low to book shipments.

You’ll see

  • Current balance

  • Required amount

  • Shortfall

Top up to continue shipping.


Monthly shipment limits

Limits by plan

  • Free: 50 per month

  • Starter: 500 per month

  • Warrior: Unlimited

  • Enterprise: Unlimited

When you approach or hit the limit, you’ll see warning banners.


Frequently asked questions

How do I upgrade or downgrade?
Use the plan comparison cards. Changes are handled through Shopify.

What’s the difference between prepaid and charge account?
Prepaid uses a balance. Charge account bills automatically. Prepaid balance is always used first.

How much should I top up?
$100–$500 is a common starting point. Don’t forget the first top-up bonus.

Do credits expire?
No. Credits stay in your account until used.

What if my balance runs out?
You’ll see warnings. Top up or enable Charge Account.

Are payment details secure?
Yes. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Can I get a refund on prepaid balance?
Contact support via Intercom to discuss refund requests.
